Cockermouth Round v2

In conjunction with Jennings Brewery and Derwent AC, we are delighted to present to you the Cockermouth Round.

This is a challenge route that can be run or walked. It takes in the hills adjacent to Cockermouth, making it a stunning circular. The hills are Slate Fell, Ling Fell, Sale Fell, Rivings, Lothwaite, Setmurthy Common and Watch Hill.

Not just “any old hills”, the route includes two Wainwrights and two Wainwright Outlying Fells. and over 3,000 feet of elevation.

The Challenge

There is no set route. Nor is there a set direction, it can be done clockwise or anti-clockwise. There is room to plot your own route and different possibilities.

When you’ve completed

Ideally, you will record your run on Strava, Garmin etc (other apps are available). When you have finished, head back into the brewery and show your completed (elapsed) time in order to be added to the leaderboard.

If you do your run outside of opening hours you can either pop into the brewery at a convenient time, or send an email with details of your round.

Roads

Please be aware that there are several sections of road to run/ walk along and also you will need to cross the A66 near Bassenthwaite Train, and again before/ after Slate Fell. Please be very careful on these sections.
